THE STORY OF CAITIE + LUKE ‘ S WEDDING ON THE FAMILY FARM, AND WHY I LOVE BEING A WEDDING VIDEOGRAPHER
When I first met Caitie and Luke, they instantly shared their story with me. How they met, how they travelled together and how they see their future together. It was beautiful to see a couple who seems to share their lives, their plans, their love whilst having different passions. Passions that each other are happy to take part with one another. They were like a team, who could talk and understand each other without words. Caitie mentionned her late father, whom was a big big part of Caitie’s and Luke’s life, and the person who defined who Caitie wanted to be. She had a very special relationship with her dad, so she asked me if I could make her feel her dad’s presence through the video. It was the reason why she wanted a wedding videographer.
In the video, I tried to incorporate Caitie’s father in the little details. We could actually feel his presence through her mum’s open letter to her daughter, through the photographs of his wedding in the house, with the wood fire pizza oven he built before he passed away, through the sunlight in the rainy sky just when the ceremony was taking place. It was a very emotional day, full of nostalgia, happy tears and laughs about the future.
I truly enjoyed being part of this day, and it’s for all the reasons cited above that I love being a wedding videographer .
